Gus Carey

Gus Carey, the principal of the Sponsor and the Manager, formed A. Carey Co. LLC in 2001.  He is also a principal or key investor in three start-up Philanprofit (SM) Companies:  Allergy Technologies LLC (ActiveGuard®), First Aid for Kids (US) LLC and Elephant Library LLC.  Prior to that Mr. Carey was a Managing Director of W.P. Carey & Co. LLC (NYSE:WPC) and Vice Chairman and President of four publicly-offered REITs sponsored by W. P. Carey, with assets totaling over $2 billion.  Prior to his time at W.P. Carey & Co., Mr. Carey served as a loan officer in the North American Department of Kleinwort Benson Limited in London and was Controller at ETA Computer Services.  He received his A.B. in Asian Studies from Amherst College in 1979, an M.Phil. in Management Studies from Oxford University in 1984 and a degree in Advanced Management from Harvard University in 2000.  Mr. Carey is a former Chairman of the Corporate Advisory Council for the Financial Planning Association and of the Investment Program Association in Washington. A former Board Member of Miss Porter’s School, Springside School (Chair of Development Committee) and the Highlands Mansion and Gardens (Treasurer), Mr. Carey is currently on the Board of the Philadelphia Zoo and is a member of the Board of Visitors at the Ambler Campus of Temple University.


Joseph Latino

Joseph S. Latino, Chief Operating Officer, with fifteen years’ experience in the pest control arena as Head of Corporate Development for Rambug Pest Control, is the co-founder of AcquiSci Inc., and co-inventor of AcquiSci’s newly acquired device-based technology, a systemic anti-inflammatory treatment of cardiovascular diseases and other inflammatory–based diseases, supported by twelve U.S. and international (PCT) patents. Responsibilities include; oversight of design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of R&D, and future products and services; structure and coordinate CE Mark process from medical device and system prototype development to application; coordination of clinical studies in coordination with CRO, appointed medical facility, and relevant regulatory authorities; enhancement of intellectual property program; and, attainment of regulatory approval in the U.S. and EU leading to commercially marketing.  Previous experience includes; acting as consultant and Head of Research for LipidViro Tech; extramural consultant for Health Canada; and, Director of Special Hematology/Oncology Laboratories at The Brooklyn Hospital, New York. He was doctorally trained as a biochemist at the C.U.N.Y Graduate Center, New York where he earned an M.Phil. in Biochemistry and holds a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Brooklyn College.
